From the popular Japanese Anime and Manga Yu-Yu-Hakusho, sometimes called the The Ghost Files in English. For those of you unfamilar with the title it is similar to Dragonball Z.
The game is set around the Dark Tournament which in the Manga is a underworld martial arts tournament which is a free-for-all no holds barred affair.
Each character possesses superhuman powers and abilities, which they unleash with the joystick and the button controls (punch, kick, guard). As with most fighting games of this genre, players have a energy bar & super moves bar. The characters in the game are cel-shaded and the graphics are powered by Namco's System 256 Hardware System.
