A combination of side scrolling and fighting game. The title roughly translates as "Castle of Gold" even though this game was named "Gladiator" for the english version release.
The game features the hero a knight, walking through the castle, avoiding traps and killing minor enemies. This allows the player to gather points to buy equipment, power ups and extra chances.
Then the player must defeat a enemy knight in one on one confrontation. The players controls movement, his sword (hi,med,low attacks) and his shield to block (hi,med,low attacks). Players & enemies shield and parts of their armor can break, expose them to more damage.
If the player defeats the enemy knight the player continues through the castle. The game involves many stages and enemy knights both male and female, until you defeat the boss knight and claim the treasure.
